Value: 3600 Crore | Prime minister Narendra Modi inaugurated or kicked off work on projects worth around Rs 3,600 crore. The projects include both in Vadodara and places around it
The pick of the projects included the unique City Command and Control Centre that has come up in Vadodara as a Smart City project. The centre that has come up at a Rs 100 crore will keep CCTV surveillance on the city, monitor its water supply system, work as the nerve centre for its emergency services including fire brigade apart from a series of other functions
Work was formally kicked off on the Vadodara Smart City transport hub that will come up in the railway station area of the city at an investment of Rs 125crore by a private partner under a public-private partnership (PPP) arrangement. Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) also kicked off work for the multi-modal city transport hub at Nizampura at a cost of Rs 160crore
The civic body will also be taking up a waste to energy project with an investment of Rs 267crore. The other major VMC projects on which work will begin include the longest flyover in the state at a cost of Rs 225crore, Mahi-based water supply scheme worth Rs 166crore, flyover on Sussen Crossroads in Vadodara at an investment of Rs 36crore, safari park at Ajwa on a PPP mode with a private partner investing Rs 55crore and a veterinary clinic and other developments at Sayajibaug zoo at a cost of Rs 6 crore
Modi formally kicked off work for the expansion of the Mundra-Delhi pipeline and a new pipeline between Palanpur and Vadodara of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) at an expense of Rs 1,889crore. Works amounting to Rs 60 crore would also begin as a part of the Pavagadh development plan. Inauguration of the Baroda Bhavan of the Bank of Baroda was also conducted.
The 'Bhoomipujan' of 2,000 houses under Pradhan Mantri Aavas Yojana was performed. As many as 774 houses were handed over to beneficiaries while work formally started on 1,067 houses under the Mukhyamantri Gruh Yojana. Work on a water supply scheme worth Rs 442crore for rural areas in Vadodara district was kicked off
