The much awaited "High Speed Train project" from Nizamuddin in Delhi to Meerut is set to start its tendering process from March 10, 2018. It is expected that civil work of the project may start in next July, said SS Verma, Executive Engineer of Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) who is looking after the project under Ghaziabad's jurisdiction
The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) already has paid its share of Rs 668 crore for elevated work in Ghaziabad part of the entire project
The entire project has been divided into three phases. The first phase work includes the work from Anand Vihar to Murad Nagar, second phase will be from Murad Nagar to Mohiddinpur and third phase will include work from Mohiddinpur in Meerut to Partapur in Meerut
The entire project would be divided in elevated and under ground track. The tender process which will be uploaded on the website on March 20, would include only elevated track project part of its first phase tender process", Verma added
From Anand Vihar to Sahibabad village the high speed train would run on underground track and from Sahibabad to Partapur in Meerut the train would run on elevated track. The total cost of entire project is estimated at Rs . 32,000 crore. The detailed project report ( DPR) of the entire project was submitted in November 2017. The UP government had released the initial amount of Rs . 100 crore of its share instantly in December 2017, added Verma
