Value: 3600 Crore | Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh announced a slew of development projects worth Rs 3,600 crore for Ludhiana district, ranging from infrastructure development, water supply, industries, health to education
The CM, who was here for the state-level Independence Day celebrations at Guru Nanak Stadium, announced an allocation of Rs 1,469 crore for a project to shift Ludhiana from the existing groundwater supply to 24x7 surface water supply
While Rs 350 crore has been earmarked for facilitating development of Hero Cycles Park as part of hi-tech cycle valley in Ludhiana, another Rs 250 crore has been set aside for the Oswal Integrated Business Park, said the chief minister, adding that these projects would generate employment and give a boost to the state’s industrial development
Another Rs 117 crore will be spent on a mega food park that will come up over 100 acres at Ladhowal; Rs 56 crore has been earmarked for setting up of common effluent treatment plant (CETP) for Tajpur Road and Rahon Road, in addition to Rs 55 crore for the CETP for focal point dyeing industry
