The much-hyped project for replacement of ordinary streetlights with energy-efficient LED streetlights is yet to start, as two years after the formal announcement of starting the project, company representatives have not yet completed the survey in all four zones. Officials are yet to get approval for the excess cost due to replacement of the existing structure, including poles and wires. The company has estimated around Rs 40 crore for structural replacements, while LED lights itself will cost Rs 44.38 crore
