The Mandya District Co-operative Milk Producers Society's Union is involved in establishment of a mega dairy plant at Gejjalagere in Mandya district of Karnataka on turnkey basis. The new unit will have a capacity of 10 lakh lpd

The plant will also have milk processing unit, packing plant and powder plant. The Milk Union has sought financial assistance of Rs 100 crore from the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB)

The project cost is Rs 227.47 crore. In 2017, the then Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah laid the foundation stone for the project. Work commenced a year later in 2018

The recent update with Projects Today indicates work on the project is moving as per the schedule and the plant will commence milk processing from December 2018. PSP Projects is the turnkey contractor in-charge for the development
