Auto components maker Uno Minda has started construction work on a passenger vehicle alloy-wheel plant in Haryana, which entails an overall capital outlay of Rs 542 crore. The facility is located at IMT Kharkhoda in the state, and will have a production capacity of 1.2 lakh wheels per month.
The plant, will be set up in a phased manner over the next five years, with the first phase expected to be commissioned in Q2/FY26.
Uno Minda secured a land parcel of 94.32 acres at IMT Kharkhoda, Haryana HSIIDC, to propel itself towards ongoing and future expansions for the next pahse of growth. A part of this land, around 25 acres has been designated for this greenfield plant.
The plan involves setting up large-scale, technologically advanced megafactories, alongside the consolidation of existing facilities to reap the benefits of enhanced operational efficiency and economic optimisation.
