Value: 350 Crore | Arvind, the textile-to-retail conglomerate has announced the launch of its largest garment hub in Gujarat on 27 November 2018 along with two other manufacturing facilities at Bavla near Ahmedabad commencing operations
The third facility will be on stream in the coming few days. These manufacturing facilities are set up at an investment of Rs 350 crore. It will add a capacity of three million garments per month
The facilities are expected to generate employment for 12,000 people as operations reach optimal capacity and many more ancillary jobs are expected to be created around these large-scale facilities
The company is on its way to transform its textiles business by developing three large garment clusters in Gujarat, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh. Each of these clusters is expected to employ over 10,000 workers. Arvind’s current manpower of over 45,000 is expected to more than double as these clusters become operational and reach optimal scale
The company intends to invest Rs 500 crore per annum for the next four-five years with an aim to double revenue from its textile business
