City-based construction and building materials player Aparna Enterprises announced a joint venture with Hong Kong-based construction solutions provider Craft Holding to manufacture aluminum exterior solutions for residential and infrastructure segments. They will be marketed under the brand name Aparna-Craft Exteriors
Speaking at the launch, Ashwin Reddy, Managing Director, Aparna Enterprises, said Craft will give designing and engineering expertise for making aluminum exterior solutions. For this, a new manufacturing facility has been set up at Bachupally, spanning 50,000 sqft and having a production capacity to make six lakh sqft per annum
The initial investment in this is Rs 30 crore, with 74 per cent coming from Aparna and the remaining from Craft. It will increase the investments in the same ratio, he said
Focus will be on Hyderabad and Bengaluru first. Aluminum Exteriors as a market segment has a huge potential owing to rapid urbanization and infrastructure development across the country, he said adding that Indian building facades and fenestration is pegged at around Rs 10,000 crore
Grant Craft, Chairman, Craft Holdings, said India is a dynamic market. It chose Aparna for its execution capabilities. It also gives them access to various endusers as it has been in the construction and infras segment for long, he said. Craft is a leader in many international markets and offers façade solutions from designing, engineering, production and execution
Aparna Enterprises Director Aparna Reddy said that the joint venture will also tap export opportunities and is likely to make the first export to Australia later this year. Aparna-Craft will also add roofing and interior solutions offered by Craft gradually to its offerings. Aparna Enterprises has is among the market leaders in ready-mix concrete, uPVC window and door systems, uPVC profiles, tiles, sanitaryware and kitchens
