The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is undertaking onland exploration in Block CY-ONHP-2018/2 in Cavery basin, Tamil Nadu. The project will entail an investment of Rs 640 crore. The block CY-ONHP-2018/2 has been awarded under Open Acreage Licensing Policy Bid Round-III (OALP-III). ONGC will undertake drilling of the proposed 20 wells. The project will spread over 459.83 sq km. The drilling rig will be operated by 30 personnel. In July 2019, the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas inked a contract with ONGC for the project. drilling work has been commenced recently on the oil block. | Updated on: 12 - Feb - 2020
