The Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) is planning to expand capacity of refinery ar Panipat in Haryana from 15 million tpa to 25 million tpa. The project worth Rs 25,600 crore will upgrade from producing BS IV grade fuel to BS VI grade fuel.
The additional power requirement for the project is expected to be 75 MW which will be sourced by Import of Power from Grid. The project will provide employment for 300 persons.
In January 2019, Hubert Enviro Care Systems bagged a contract for environment impact assessment (EIA), risk assessment (RA) studies and obtaining environment clearance for the project.
In July 2019, McDermott International, Inc bagged a contract for technology license, basic engineering, proprietary equipment, training and technical services for a grassroots Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) unit using INDMAX Technology for the project.
As per information available with Projects Today, licensing and selection work was ongoing. After completion of licensing and selection work, detailed engineering work will be carried out on the project. Once the detailed engineering work is completed, the estimate cost will be finalised. The work on the project is expected to commence by 2023.
