UltraTech Cement is planning to expand cement capacity from nine million tpa to 14 million tpa in Anantapur district and Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh
The project will also include expansion of clinker capacity from 6.5 million tpa to 10 million tpa and waste heat recovery power plant capacity from 20 MW to 36 MW. The project worth Rs 1,250 crore will generate employment for 150 persons
In February 2020, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) accorded terms of reference (ToR)
work on the project is expected to commence by February 2021, with completion slated in March 2022
