The Agricultural Marketing Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, has invited bids to install 112 grid-connected solar cold storage rooms across the state
The last date to submit the bids online is May 18, 2021. The bids will be opened on May 22
The government of Andhra Pradesh is establishing multipurpose facility centers to ensure the availability of pre-and post-harvest facilities. The current tender aims to facilitate the equipment for primary processing and assaying of agricultural and horticultural commodities at the village level
The successful bidder should provide one year guarantee and ensure repairs and maintenance for three years from the date of supply of equipment free of cost
The winning bidders will have to submit an amount equal to 3% of the total order value as the performance bank guarantee
The bidder should be an original equipment manufacturer or an authorized dealer or supplier. The tender also demands that the firms have at least three years of experience in manufacturing and supplying such items
The bidder will be entitled to pay an earnest money deposit of ?1.2 million (~$16,198) for securing the cold storage tender order. The average annual turnover of the bidder in the last three financial years should not be less than ?120 million (~$1.62 million) from the sale of cold storage rooms and refrigeration works
The wattage output of the modules should be 320 W, with a total of 16 modules slated to be installed in each room. The total connected solar power will be 5 kW per room, and the energy generated will be 6,144 kWh per annum
In November last year, the Indian wing of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, a Germany-based development agency, floated a tender for ten solar-powered cold storage units for its projects in Karnataka and Maharashtra to reduce Covid-19 related agricultural losses
