Telangana government is planning to set up food processing industries across the districts in the state, which is estimated to cost approximately Rs 2,000 crore. The food industries will convert paddy into products like rice and edible oil. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will soon lay the foundation stone for the project
The state has reached the top in paddy production in the country with the execution of a slew of agricultural development and farmer welfare programmes, allowing farmers to sell their products in the global market. Presently, the capacity of rice mills in the state to convert paddy into rice through CMR milling is around 75 lakh tonne
