Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) is planning to set up biogas plants in all of its facilities including Manesar, Gurugram, Kharkoda and Gujarat as the car maker transitions towards green energy for production
The parent company Suzuki Motor Corporation is also evaluating the opportunity to start a biogas plant with Amul in Gujarat
MSIL aims to use agricultural waste as well as in-house waste from its factories to change the energy use, as gas is consumed for firing its gas turbines, paint shops and others
The company, which currently relies on imported CNG, is in the process of adopting biogas as the more economical alternative for operations in the longer run
