In a recent development, Nand Lal Sharma, the Chairman & Managing Director of SJVN, proudly announced the successful acquisition of a 100 MW Solar Power Project through an e-Reverse Auction facilitated by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). The competitive bidding process, conducted by GUVNL, saw SJVN secure the quoted capacity at a rate of Rs 2.63 per unit on a Build Own and Operate basis
The project, to be developed by SJVN’s wholly owned subsidiary, SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), is estimated to cost around Rs 550 crore. The Ground Mounted Solar Project is set to be implemented anywhere in India, with an anticipated commissioning period of 18 months from the date of signing the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between SGEL and GUVNL, spanning a 25-year term
Nand Lal Sharma highlighted the significant benefits of the project, projecting an initial annual generation of approximately 252 million units and a cumulative energy production of 5866 million units over the 25-year duration. Moreover, the commissioning of this solar venture is expected to mitigate carbon emissions by an estimated 287,434 tonnes
This achievement propels SJVN’s solar and wind portfolio to a commendable 5090.5 MW, with 179.5 MW in operation, 1860 MW under construction, and 3051 MW at various stages of implementation. Undeterred, the company remains steadfast in its mission to reach 12,000 MW by 2026, a shared vision of 25,000 MW by 2030, and an ambitious target of 50,000 MW installed capacity by 2040
