APM Terminals Pipavav has signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to develop a complete green hydrogen ecosystem and enhance port infrastructure during the Vibrant Gujarat Summit. APM Terminals Pipavav and Gujarat Maritime Board have signed an MoU to facilitate necessary permissions for the construction of a Liquid Berth, Container Berth, and a Yard, as well as Container Handling Equipment and Marine Infrastructure Development at Pipavav Port. The estimated cost of this project is INR 3,320 crore, aiming to create jobs and stimulate economic growth through infrastructure development
APM Terminals Pipavav and Welspun Group have also signed an MoU to explore opportunities for the development of Green Hydrogen facilities on land provided by the port. This collaboration will target both export and domestic usage through various models

Green hydrogen, produced from water and renewable energy, can replace fossil fuels such as natural gas in industrial processes, serve as a transport fuel, function as a sustainable industrial raw material, and act as energy storage to replace batteries
