Patel Engineering Limited (PEL), in a joint venture, has secured the contract for an irrigation project worth ?525.36 crore from the Irrigation & CAD Department, Government of Telangana. The project entails the construction of an RCC Protection Wall along the River Munneru flanks between Polepally and Prakashnagar in Khammam City, Khammam District. PEL's share in the contract amounts to Rs. 267.93 crore, and the project is scheduled to be completed within 24 months
The scope of work includes the construction of 8.5 km RCC Protection walls on both the right and left sides of the River Munneru, along with embankments extending 2 km on either side of the river near the Nagarjuna Sagar Left Bank Aqueduct in Khammam city. The project aims to enhance irrigation infrastructure and protect the surrounding areas from riverbank erosion, contributing to the development of the region
