The Coca Cola company, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages (HCCB), has plans to expand its manufacturing capacity by adding another greenfield manufacturing plant in Telangana. It entails an investment of Rs 700 crore.
A senior level ministerial delegation led by Minister for IT, Industries & Commerce, D Sridhar Babu, and Minister for R&B and Cinematography, Komatireddy Venkatreddy, had met the senior leadership of the company at its headquarters in Atlanta, US.
The new plant will be established in Peddapalle district in the state, where the company has already evaluated sites for the unit. This also is considered as the shift of new large-scale manufacturing capacities by multinational companies into the hinterland of the state, marking a trend towards distributed industrial growth in the state.
In addition, as part of an IT-led strategy, the Telangana delegation has proposed setting up a Coca Cola Technology Global Capability centre in Hyderabad.
