The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has been allocated a total budget of Rs 1,19,402.52 crore for 2024-2025, reflecting the commitment to bolster India's energy infrastructure and capabilities. This allocation comprises both budget support and internal and extra budgetary resources (IEBR).
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is the beneficiary of an allocation of Rs 30,800 crore for 2024-2025. This represents a steady increase from Rs 30,500 crore in the revised budget for 2023-2024, and will support its exploration and production activities. Gas Authority of India (GAIL) has been allocated Rs 4,886 crore for 2024-2025, a decrease from Rs 6,888 crore in the revised 2023-2024 budget and Rs 6,002.49 crore in the initial budget for 2023-2024
Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) is set to receive Rs 2,000 crore for 2024-2025, down from Rs 2,150 crore in the revised budget for 2023-2024 and Rs 2,360 crore in the initial 2023-2024 budget. On the other hand, Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) has been allocated Rs 27,374.04 crore for 2024-2025, a slight increase from Rs 27,064.45 crore in the revised 2023-2024 budget.
Oil India (OIL) has received an increased allocation of Rs 6,880 crore for 2024-2025, up from Rs 5,648 crore in the revised 2023-2024 budget and Rs 4,896 crore in the initial budget for 2023-2024. This significant boost underscores the company's growing role in exploration and production.
