Apraava Energy has been awarded an interstate transmission project in Rajasthan through the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process.
The work of construction of approx. 200 km of 400 kV and 765 kV transmission lines, along with a pooling station, will support the evacuation of 5.5 GW of renewable power from Rajasthan's Renewable Energy Zone Phase IV.
The zones, encompassing the Jaisalmer and Barmer regions, are critical to India’s renewable energy plans. The pooling station, comprising a 765/400 kV, 4x1500 and 400/220 kV, 5x500 MVA setup, will significantly enhance the region's transmission capacity, aligning with national goals for renewable energy expansion. The project, to be developed under the build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) model, will be managed by a special purpose vehicle (SPV) recently handed over to Apraava by REC Power Development and Consultancy.
As per the transmission service agreement (TSA), Apraava will provide transmission services for 35 years once the project becomes operational. The construction phase is expected to generate employment of over 1,000 directly and indirectly, with further opportunities throughout its operational tenure.
Apraava Energy also manages three wind energy projects totaling over 250 MW and is set to commence construction on three solar energy projects with a combined capacity of 600 MW in Rajasthan.
