Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis laid the foundation of a sewage line, sewage treatment plant (STP) and road project in the Narsala Hudkeshwar area in Nagpur on 13 October, 2024. The infrastructure of the area will be strengthened further.
The Deputy CM was speaking at the 'Bhumi Puja' of Nagpur Municipal Corporation's (NMC) sewage line and STP worth Rs 115.46 crore under the Centre's Amrit Yojana 2.0, along with a Rs 35 crore road project in the Hudkeshwar-Narsala area of Kamthi assembly constituency. The main sewer trunk line will be connected to the STP, which will stop pollution of the Pohra river. The sewage disposal project will address environmental issues.
For this project, Rs 957 crore expenditure has been granted administrative sanction. The project entails development of wastewater collection system for Hudkeshwar-Narsala area, including sewer line works. A total of 164.9 km long sewage network will replace old sewer lines. The work would be completed in the next two years. The construction of the sewerage network in the entire area between Hudakeshwar-Narsala under the South Sewerage Zone of Nagpur will provide relief to the citizens.
