Suzuki Motor Corporation will supply its first battery electric vehicle (BEV) to Toyota Motor Corporation. The fully electric (EV) SUV model will be developed at Suzuki Motor plant in Gujarat.
Production is scheduled to start in spring 2025. The EV SUV represents the first vehicle developed under the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partnership between Suzuki and Toyota. The the model features an extended cruising range, and a spacious interior, and nimble handling It will also offer a four-wheel-drive (4WD) system, suitable for rugged terrains.
The BEV unit and platform for this new model were jointly developed by Suzuki, Toyota, and Daihatsu Motor Corporation. Marking a new step in our collaboration in the field of electrified vehicles, the collaboration will help provide choices to customers worldwide contributing to a carbon-neutral society, and put in "joint efforts based on a multi-pathway approach".
