Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone or inaugurated projects worth over Rs 284 crore in Ekta Nagar, around 200 km from Ahmedabad in Gujarat on 30 October, 2024.
Among projects which were inaugurated included the Bonsai Garden, a sewage treatment plant, and the Sardar Sarovar Dam Experience Centre to further enhance the Statute of Unity area, which is an international tourist destination.
The PM launched a sub-district hospital built at a cost of Rs 22 crore, equipped with essential medical facilities such as a trauma centre, CT scan, ICU, labour room, and an operation theatre. A new ICU-on-wheels service has also been introduced, providing immediate care in critical situations. PM Modi also inaugurated a four MW solar project, worth Rs 23.26 crore.
A protective wall near the Cactus Garden would be expanded, ensuring a safe environment following the damage due to floods in 2023. Additionally, in Garudeshwar, land elevation work has begun for a hospitality district redevelopment project costing Rs 60 crore.
