Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday reviewed ongoing PWD projects and said that development benefits must reach all the 75 districts in the state.
While interacting with senior officials in Lucknow, the CM told them to ensure excellent connectivity to religious, historical and mythological places of major sects and communities across the state.
Consider local needs when planning road construction projects, he said. Emphasising on the importance of meeting timelines and quality, the CM made it clear that from junior engineer to chief engineer, all the stakeholders involved in wrongdoing will face action in case anomalies are detected. Contractors and construction companies breaching the terms of the agreement will be blacklisted and their promoters would face strict action, he added.
Stressing upon the need to prioritise environmental protection in all road construction, widening, and strengthening efforts, Yogi asked officials to provide at least two-lane wide connectivity on all the major routes (district roads), maintaining 1.5-lane wide roads need to be provided while upgrading other district roads.
Yogi asked officials to finalise the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and give it final approval only when engineers concerned have expressed their commitment to meet the deadline and timeframe required to execute the project. He said govt would provide the budget to augment infrastructure across the state.
Highlighting the importance of periodic maintenance, Yogi asked officials to carry out third-party audits and inspections on a regular basis after completion of a project.
