The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has announced a Rs 203 crore infrastructure project to improve road connectivity across key Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) zones. Spanning 59.93 km across ten identified stretches, the initiative aims to ease traffic congestion and enhance industrial accessibility.
The project focuses on linking Ranjangaon MIDC with Pune-Ahmednagar Road, Pirangut with Pune-Satara Road, and Talegaon-Chakan MIDC with Nashik Highway, among others. Commissioner Yogesh Mhase detailed that Rs 169.78 crore is designated for roadworks, while an additional Rs 34 crore will support industrial connectivity projects. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has approved the full budget allocation.
In Shirur taluka, four roads covering 40 km will be built, with costs ranging from Rs 12 crore to Rs 19.90 crore per stretch. Hinjewadi’s industrial hub will see three new roads, including a 3.5 km link from Surya Hospital to Thakar Vasti at Rs 30.45 crore. Pirangut’s network will expand with three additional roads, the longest being 7.1km from Urwade to Hinjewadi Phase-III at Rs 14.50 crore.
